The San Francisco 49ers have officially ruled out strong safety Talanoa Hufanga with a wrist injury he suffered early in Week 5 against the Arizona Cardinals.
Hufanga is having a hard time staying on the field with a flurry of injuries that have come since he’s returned from last year’s ACL injury. He missed the first two games, but returned for Week 3 against the Rams.
In the lead up to Week 4 he turned his ankle in practice and had to miss the 49ers’ game against the Patriots.
Then in Week 5 he suffered a wrist injury early against the Cardinals and left to the locker room during the second quarter. The team ruled him out shortly after he went to the locker room.
Rookie Malik Mustapha took over for him at the strong safety spot.
