49ers quarterback Brock Purdy launched himself ahead in NFL MVP odds after dominating Sunday in San Francisco's 42–19 win over the Eagles.
While some NFL fans may think this pick is outlandish, 49ers receiver Deebo Samuel is one of his quarterback’s strongest supporters in the MVP race.
“My boy No. 1 right now, it ain’t even up for debate,” Samuel said on Tuesday’s Up & Adams show. “He’s just gotta keep stacking games, stacking days, stacking weeks. We gotta go out here as a team and make plays for him.”

The 49ers also hold the best odds, +333 according to SI Sportsbook, to win the Super Bowl in February. Samuel noted this is really the team's overarching goal.
“I don’t think that’s his ideal goal [the MVP] for us,” Samuel continued. “Something he really, really wants to accomplish right now, I think at the end of the day as a whole as a group as a team, we want to be standing there at the end of the year holding the Lombardi Trophy.”
San Francisco currently sits in the No. 2 NFC playoff spot with a 9–3 record behind the Eagles. The win on Sunday gives the 49ers an advantage moving forward if the two teams tie for the No. 1 spot.
