The 49ers are downright beat up going into their Week 17 game against the Washington Commanders.
Every NFL team this late in the season is dealing with injury problems, but San Francisco’s are glaring when shone under the light of a practice participation report.
There was no full practice for the 49ers on Wednesday since they played Monday night. Instead they took part in a walk-thru, so participation is just an estimate of what they would’ve done had there been a full session.
Here’s how things looked Wednesday:
Did not participate
DT Arik Armstead (foot, knee)
G Aaron Banks (toe)
S Ji’Ayir Brown (knee)
WR Jauan Jennings (concussion)
T Jaylon Moore (concussion)
Armstead has been out the last three games and head coach Kyle Shanahan hasn’t sounded optimistic about his potential return. Jennings suffered a concussion in Week 15 vs. Arizona, while Brown, Banks and Moore were all hurt vs. the Ravens. Banks aggravated a toe injury he sustained earlier in the year that caused him to miss some time.
Limited participation
LB Oren Burks (knee)
TE Ross Dwelley (ankle)
DT Javon Hargrave (hamstring)
WR Deebo Samuel (neck)
CB Ambry Thomas (knee, hand)
LT Trent Williams (groin)
Limited work for Williams is actually probably good news at this point in the week. Samuel’s injury designation is also new. There wasn’t any word immediately after the game that he was dealing with anything.
Full participation
WR Danny Gray (shoulder)
RB Elijah Mitchell (knee)
QB Brock Purdy (left shoulder)
Gray on Wednesday had his 21-day practice window opened. Purdy has suffered a shoulder stinger in two consecutive games, but it doesn’t appear he’s in danger of missing time.
