The Baltimore Ravens signed wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. to a one-year deal, adding a talented playmaker to their group of wideouts. The deal was first reported on Sunday evening, with Beckham officially putting pen to paper on Thursday morning.
Following his official contract signing ceremony, Beckham took the podium with Baltimore head coach John Harbaugh and general manager Eric DeCosta to answer media questions. There were plenty of insightful answers given by all parties, as much was learned about Beckham as both a football player and a person.

Beckham appears to really want to be in Baltimore
It was clear how excited Beckham was over the course of his press conference, smiling and saying how grateful he is for the opportunity. It feels as if the partnership between himself and the team can be something special, and it showed over multiple different answers.
Beckham is excited about the possibility of playing with QB Lamar Jackson
While Beckham made it clear that he received no assurances from Jackson about whether he’d be the quarterback of the team, the wideout shared that he’s excited about the possibility of playing with the star quarterback. The two shared a FaceTime call that was posted to social media shortly after the signing, and it’s safe to say that if Jackson suits up in Baltimore for the 2023 season, Beckham would be thrilled.
Beckham is in a much healthier place that before his Super Bowl ACL tear
Beckham admitted that he wasn’t healthy when he tore his ACL in the Super Bowl, as he was told that he didn’t have an ACL around Week 9. He opted to play through the injury, and now has had a full year and change to recover from the injury as he prepares to try to prove people wrong during the 2023 season.
The Ravens made Beckham feel special
DeCosta mentioned that Baltimore’s recruitment of Beckham spans back to October, as it was a move the team was wanting to make a reality for a long time. The Ravens seem to have pulled out all the stops for the star wide receiver, and he seemed grateful for it during the press conference.
