Four-star wide receiver recruit Travis Smith Jr. has committed to the Tennessee Volunteers over the Georgia Bulldogs, Alabama Crimson Tide, and Auburn Tigers. Smith was previously projected to commit to Georgia, but he started to trend toward Tennessee entering his commitment announcement.
Smith is ranked as the No. 15 wide receiver recruit in the class of 2025. Smith is Tennessee’s fifth-best verbal commitment in the 2025 cycle.
Following Smith’s commitment, the Volunteers have the No. 15 recruiting class in the country. Despite missing out of Smith, Georgia still has the third-best class of 2025 in the nation.
Smith took official visits to all four of his top four schools ahead of his commitment.
Travis Smith plays high school football for Westlake High School in Atlanta, Georgia. The 6-foot-4, 190-pound wide receiver is consider to be the No. 149 recruit in the nation. The Westlake star is the No. 20 recruit in Georgia in the 2025 recruiting cycle, according to 247Sports. The four-star wide receiver prospect plays basketball and participates in track and field and has good speed.
Smith may not be Tennessee’s only big recruiting win. The Volunteers are also predicted to flip four-star linebacker Jadon Perlotte away from Georgia.

Kirby Smart and Georgia have commitments from four wide receivers and 19 overall recruits in the class of 2025.
