4 reasons the Commanders should be concerned about the Dolphins

Miami is 2nd in Scoring Offense

The Dolphins average 30.8 points per game. That is an impressive statistic alone. But now consider that against the Washington defense, who week after week cannot get off of the field, and when they do, too often it is because they have given up explosive plays. The matchup is the Miami offense vs the Commanders defense, which has yielded 350 points, the most in the NFL.

Miami’s Passing offense can be explosive

The Dolphins have had their ups and downs, but they are still at the top of the NFL, averaging 285 passing yards a game. The Commanders are going to get embarrassed if they don’t figure out who to stop some explosive plays. They give up an average of 5.9 yards a play which is third-worst in the NFL.

Miami’s Rushing Offense is overlooked

The Dolphin receivers and quarterback do receive most of the publicity, but Miami surprisingly runs the ball quite well. Well enough, they are second in the entire league, averaging 145 rushing yards a game. The Commanders defense is going to be in for a long day if they don’t improve their recent performances that got Jack Del Rio fired.

Miami’s Rushing Defense

The Dolphins offense is popular, receiving much recognition, but their run defense has been quite good this season as well. In fact, Miami’s rushing defense is ranked sixth in the NFL, giving up only 92 rushing yards a game. If the Commanders want to keep the ball from the Miami offense, they will need to control the line of scrimmage and run the ball successfully.
