Sometimes inappropriate things can make us laugh. We might let out a chuckle or two when we hear a joke or see a meme that others would find offensive. The memes from the "So Wrong It's Funny" Facebook page are not outrageously distasteful. They are, should I say, mildly inappropriate. You know they're wrong, but you still enjoy it and laugh.

"So Wrong It's Funny" can boast its claim to Facebook fame. The page has more than 100k followers. It posts hilarious meme content daily and even has some loyal fans. The creator of the page agreed to tell Bored Panda some behind-the-scenes facts.
Naturally, we wanted to know how the idea for such a page came to the creator. "The page was created because there were a lot of things my friends posted that I thought were funny but couldn't share due to my career and professional obligations," the ‘So Wrong It's Funny’ owner tells us.

The page's admin says that the original idea was to simply create a page they and their friends could laugh about. "[It] was more about making a page to post everything I found humor in for those of my friends I could share it with. It's grown organically ever since," the creator reveals.
And that's where the content for the page comes from. The person behind the page says that they don't go looking for funny memes elsewhere on the Internet. It all comes from friends and groups they are part of.

However, that doesn't mean the page doesn't accept outside submissions. The creator says they have done so in the past and are still willing to do it today. There is one piece of criteria the content has to pass, though. "They have to make me laugh," the admin tells us the blunt but simple truth.

Although the page has a solid follower base, over 100k, the person behind the page doesn't feel much pressure. They said they've never felt overwhelmed by that number of people. "It can be hard to come by content. It might take a few days before you find something funny. But I don't feel pressured to post."

At the end of the day, it's the Internet. Not everyone will be nice all of the time. "When I do post something that is crude, insulting or morally wrong, I do have people that will comment with their distaste," the creator admits.

However, in these cases, devoted followers of the page will come to their aid. They tend to defend the more offensive or inappropriate memes. The creator doesn't take that to heart either. "Things are meant to be taken as funny," they believe. "Life is too short to be serious all the time!"

The creator views the page as a hobby. Other social media pages might use their notoriety and start advertising, open online stores, etc. The admin of this page is not looking for any monetary gain from it: there's no advertising, they don't charge their followers either.

Did you know you can test your sense of humor? In 2003 psychology researcher Rod A. Martin published his Humor Styles Questionnaire. He distinguished four main types of humor: affiliative, self-enhancing, aggressive and self-defeating.

People with an affiliative sense of humor crack jokes to make others like them. Self-enhancing humor enthusiasts use humor to laugh at themselves or the absurdity of a situation to feel better.
Aggressive humor is sarcasm, teasing and ridicule. And those who use the last one, self-defeating, put themselves down for others to like them.
