Atletico Madrid striker Alvaro Morata is reportedly a target for Arsenal this summer as they look to bolster their attack ahead of the 2022/23 campaign.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was released on a free transfer in the January transfer window and Alexandre Lacazette appears set to re-join Lyon in the coming days, leaving Mikel Arteta short of options. With European football returning to the Emirates Stadium this season, strength in depth will be key - so some shrewd summer business will be planned.
A number of big names have been linked with moves to the Emirates Stadium this summer including Manchester City's Gabriel Jesus and Roma's Tammy Abraham. But another name rumoured to be attracting interest is Atletico Madrid's Alvaro Morata.

As per Spanish outlet Sport, the Gunners were reported to be ‘very close’ to sealing the signature of Morata this summer. The Spaniard, valued at £34million by CIES Observatory, has spent the last two campaigns on loan with Juventus but the Italian giants turned down the chance to make his move permanent, leaving Morata's future up in the air. But the player himself is remaining calm and left the door open to the possibility of an Arsenal switch.
"I have quite a few options. It's not up to me. The good thing is that there are several teams," Morata told journalist Matteo Moretto. "I would like to be where they love me the most and value me. In the last two places I've been I've been very happy because there are wonderful people."
