Egypt confirmed on Saturday that more than 34 million people have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
On Saturday, the Health Ministry said the average number of daily infections during the past week reached eight cases, while the average daily death toll in the same period reached four new cases.
The ministry’s spokesperson, Hossam Abdel-Ghaffar, said in a statement that the average daily number of people recovering from the coronavirus last week was 20, bringing the total number of recoveries to 445,282.
He added that 34,508,460 people have been fully vaccinated against the coronavirus.
The Health Ministry called on citizens to register on its website to receive the vaccine.
“Vaccines contribute to protecting all family members from severe infections with coronavirus and its variants,” the ministry said.
It stressed that the state spares no effort in providing vaccines to citizens for free, through permanent cooperation with international organizations and bodies.
