320 new jobs at Glasgow Airport as one million extra passengers expected in 2023

More than 320 jobs are up for grabs at Glasgow Airport.

Over 30 businesses based at the campus will take part in a recruitment event this coming Thursday with roles available across a huge number of services from air traffic control to baggage handlers.

The jobs fair will take place between 10am and 4pm and operations director Ronald Leitch explained the airport is anticipating an extra million passengers this year.

Recruitment teams from the likes of security specialists ICTS, facilities management company ABM, National Air Traffic Control (NATS), Swissport, Menzies, The Restaurant Group and Select Service Partners will be on hand to discuss full-time and seasonal opportunities.

Loganair will also be there hoping to recruit across a range of positions along with First Bus and McGills, World Duty Free and both Rangers and Celtic stores.

Mr Leitch said: “Having joined the airport 22 years ago as a management trainee, I can say first hand it is a fantastic and exciting place to work. It is a unique and special workplace and there are so many opportunities available to develop a career in the aviation industry.

"I would encourage anyone looking to join the industry to come along."

Glasgow Airport Ltd is also recruiting for human resources, finance, airfield operations and the control centre positions.

Representatives from Invest in Renfrewshire and Jobcentre Plus staff will also be present at the Jobs Fair to offer support and advice, while translators will also be on hand to support Polish, Romanian and Ukrainian jobseekers.

Anyone attending should bring with them an up-to-date CV and valid ID such as a passport or driving licence. Given the security requirements involved in working at an airport, many of the roles on offer will require a full five-year checkable history.

Invest in Renfrewshire will operate a shuttle bus service between 30 Causeyside Street, Paisley, to the airport’s jobs fair. To register to use this shuttle service email invest@renfrewshire.gov.uk or call free on 0300 300 1180. Complimentary parking will also be available on the day in the airport’s multi-storey car park for members of the public in attendance and will be validated on departure.
