Some 300 new jobs are to be created in Cork, Dublin and Mayo by global company TELUS International Ireland.
Taoiseach Micheal Martin congratulated the firm, which is an Irish-based digital solutions expert, when it announced its latest recruitment drive yesterday.
He said: “TELUS International Ireland is already a significant employer on both a national and regional scale and I’m delighted to see this further expansion.
“In my own city of Cork, I have seen the contribution of TELUS International Ireland to the economy and the local community first-hand.
“I’m excited to see how this growth will create new opportunities for talent and investment across Cork, Dublin and Mayo.”
TELUS is to fill the jobs over the coming year in tech and customer support, shared services, cloud infrastructure, and analytics.
The new roles include onsite, remote, and combined (hybrid) working.
TELUS is also upgrading its facilities at its three Irish sites to include a state-of-the-art gym and a refurbished restaurant.
The company also created 30 new jobs at its site in Ballina, Co Mayo, last year.
IDA Ireland’s regional manager Ray O’Connor added: “This substantial announcement of 300 new jobs across its three Irish sites demonstrates Ireland’s potential to deliver.”
The recruitment on telusinternational.com/careers by TELUS is the latest boost for the country, in addition to the 350 jobs that were unveiled two days ago.
On Monday, it was revealed that IBM, which has operated in Ireland since 1956, is creating 200 new jobs in Dublin, Cork and Galway.
These will be added to IBM’s existing workforce of 3,000 in Ireland, including the more than 400 people that it has hired since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic.
It was also announced on Monday that Utility contracting firm Gaeltec is to create 150 jobs in Kilkenny and Dublin.
