30 Of The Most Flattering Pairs Of Denim Shorts You Can Buy RN

Ah, shopping for denim shorts *deep breath*. While it’s faaaaar less painful than shopping for jeans, it’s still a journey. What once was such a simple grab-and-go shopping moment is now a wall of different styles and colourways. You’ve got everything from your classic cut-offs and designer denim to your low-waisted micro shorts and jorts (thanks, Gen Z) to choose from.

It’s honestly no easy feat — especially if you’re working with particular outfits, accessories, occasions and price points in mind. So naturally, since we basically get paid to online shop all day, we made it our mission to find some of the best, most flattering denim shorts on the internet. All you have to do is smash that add to cart button.

How good?! So, without further ado — let’s get into it.

PEDESTRIAN.TV’s top picks at a glance

We’ve spent hours scouring the internet to bring you some of the best denim shorts in each style category to help ease your decision paralysis. Here’s the TL;DR of where we’d spend our money if we were you.

Best classic denim shorts: Levi’s, Rollas, Abrand
Best affordable denim shorts: Cotton On, Ghanda, Thrills
Best jorts: Wrangler, Ksubi, AERE
Best mini shorts: One Teaspoon, Cotton On, Glassons
Best white denim shorts: Agolde, Rollas, Henne
Best black denim shorts: Neuw, Dr Denim, Abrand
Best designer denim shorts: Agolde, Citizens of Humanity, Anine Bing
Best high-waisted shorts: Assembly, Lee, GRLFRND
Best low-waisted shorts: One Teaspoon, Thrills, Rusty
Best plus-sized denim shorts: City Chic, Commonry, Levi’s Curve

The best classic denim shorts

Let’s start with your classic denim shorts. Think of these as your go-to shorts, you know, the pair you always reach for because you know they’re a flattering fit and pair well with just about anything. They’re typically your classic indigo washes with no distressing or snazzy bits, just clean, simple denim. These days, a lot of your classic denim is mid to high-waisted, but as of last year, we’ve spotted a few pairs of low-waisted shorts creeping into our wardrobes (more of those later). For now, our ride-or-die pairs consist of Levi’s High Waisted Mom Shorts ($75, usually $99.95), Rollas 90’s Relaxed Shorts ($119.95), and Abrand’s Venice Short Chantell ($99.95).

You can shop each of them below:

If you’re after a pair of decent-quality denim shorts that won’t cost you a kidney, you’ve come to the right place. You don’t need to pay hundreds of dollars for denim. Places like Cotton On, Ghanda, and Thrills offer classic, 100 per cent cotton denim shorts that look just as good, if not better, than the more exxy stuff. You’ll find Cotton On’s Original Cut-Off Denim Short ($44.99), Ghanda’s Quincy Denim Shorts ($49.95) and the Thrills Erica Shorts ($99.99) in our carts.

The best plus-sized denim shorts

Whether you’re chasing jorts, cut-offs, or a more classic style of shorts, we’ve managed to track down a bunch of different styles that come in an array of sizes and colours to fit every body type. When it comes to sizes 12 and up, brands like City Chic ($89.95), Commonry ($119.95), and Levi’s Curve ($89.95) have some of the best pairs on the Internet.

You can shop each of them below:

The best denim jorts

We blame the whole Adam Sandler dad-dressing era for the return of jorts. We’re already seeing them everywhere this summer paired with crop tops, baby tees, collared shirts and baseball hats. Jorts aren’t for the faint-hearted, so you’ll need to style them to pull them off effortlessly. If we were to dabble in jorts, we’d pick either the Wrangler Low Stevie Baggy Jort ($79, usually $119.95), the Ksubi Low Rider Short ($189.95) or the AERE Denim Jorts ($100).

You can shop each of them below:

The best denim mini shorts

It’s been a minute, but micro mini shorts are back in a big way for 2025. We’ve been seeing them everywhere, from TikTok to the streets, so it comes as no surprise that a whole bunch of brands have jumped on board. If you’re looking to try the trend, you really can’t go past the OG Bonitas from One Teaspoon ($120). Yep, OTS is making a comeback and bringing its micro shorts with it. They’re the distressed style that the brands are famous for, so if you’re after something a little cleaner, try Cotton On ($39.99) or Glassons ($39.99). Both brands have some mini shorts that are more of a classic fit.

You can shop each of them below:

The best white denim shorts

While wearing a pair of white shorts can be a little bit risky, they look so damn good. A crisp, well-fitting pair of white denim shorts screams summer elegance, and please don’t spill anything on me. If we were to update our white shorts this season, we’d have a hard time choosing from the Agolde Parker Long Denim Shorts ($260), Rollas Mirage Shorts ($99.95), and Henne’s Seri Shorts ($199). Each pair offers a different style, so depending on what you’re looking for — distressed, classic, boyfriend fit — you should find it within our top three below.

You can shop each of them below:

The best black denim shorts

Black denim shorts are a staple in almost every wardrobe, and pretty much every brand has a version of their best-selling cut in classic black or acid-wash denim. Swapping blue for black is an effortless way to elevate a casual look to become something a little more fancy, should the need arise. If we were to add a pair of fresh shorts to our existing wardrobes, we’d be reaching for either Neuw’s Phoebe Shorts Underground Noir ($139.95), Dr Denim’s Lea Shorts ($89.95), or Abrand’s Carries Shorts ($99.95).

You can shop each of them below:

The best designer denim shorts

Okay, we’ve tried to keep this one under $500; they are just denim shorts, after all. However, if you have a taste (and the cash) for the finer things in life, aka designer denim, you’re going to wanna hit up retailers like Net-a-Porter and Far Fetched as well as the designers themselves. If we had the cash to splash, we’d be adding the Citizens of Humanity Brynn Denim Shorts ($439) to our carts. Otherwise, if we were to set our sights a little lower, the Anine Bing Kat Denim Shorts ($290) or the Agolde Parker Vintage Cut-Offs ($279) would suffice.

You can shop each of them below:

The best high-waisted shorts

High-waisted girlies, rise up! You’ve probably already got a thousand pairs of high-waisted denim shorts in your wardrobe, but if you’re in the market for a new pair, we’ve found the goods. Whether you’re looking for a classic clean fit or something more distressed, Assembly Label ($90), Lee ($109.95), and GRLFRND ($292.46) are where you’ll find your next go-to pair.

You can shop each of them below:

The best low-waisted shorts

For those looking to dabble in the low-rise trend, you’re going to be spoilt for choice. Brands like One Teaspoon ($120), Thrills ($99.99) and Rusty ($109.99) have all dropped sets that are perfect for summer.

These are all the denim short trends we’ve spotted so far for summer 2025, if more pop up, we’ll be sure to add them. Happy shopping!
