30 Browns prospects in 30 days: Ryan Hayes, OT, Michigan

It seems every season that the Cleveland Browns depth at offensive line will be challenged at some point. So one of Andrew Berry’s focuses in this year’s draft should be to improve the depth of the offensive line. Ryan Hayes, the offensive tackle from Michigan, is flying a bit under the radar that could be molded into a quality player at left tackle.

Hayes has great functional strength at the position that moves laterally pretty well to pull in the run game. He provides a ton of experience in college and didn’t allow a sack last season for the Wolverines. He has the solid base and size to provide good drive in the running game to open holes and lanes for his running backs.

The tackle needs to improve his footwork and leverage as a player that just doesn’t have great fundamentals. Cleveland would be a great spot for Hayes, who has the size and strength you can teach but with one of the best offensive line coaches to develop the raw tools into a quality player.
