
Did you know it’s not only false and misleading information to look out for this federal election? There are also voting myths — ones that your uncle tries to trick you into believing at family dinner. For example, the myth that you must follow candidates’ ‘how to vote cards’. These cards are just guides, and you are free to make whatever choices you want.
So, you can see how dangerous these myths are when spread as facts. Luckily, Pat from the Australian Electoral Commission gave us the top three voting myths — just in time for the federal election on May 3, 2025.
