One of the most outspoken NFL pundits is CBS Sports’ Pete Prisco. He’s never been shy about going against the grain when it comes to his Top 100 players list he does every year.
The Pittsburgh Steelers got three players on this year’s list starting off with outside linebacker T.J. Watt who checks in at No. 5. This is up from No. 11 last year. Here’s what Prisco said about his ranking of Watt:
He led the NFL in sacks with 19 last season and remains a true game-wrecker. He bounced back from an injury-shortened 2022 to show he remains one of the game’s best edge players.
Next on the list is wide receiver George Pickens at No. 68. This is Pickens debut on this list and rightfully so. Even with abysmal quarterback play in 2023, Pickens led the NFL in yards per catch and finished with 1,140 yards. With better quarterback play, the sky is the limit for Pickens.
Finally, the Steelers got safety Minkah Fitzpatrick at No. 71. This is way down from No. 41 last season. Fitzpatrick got caught up in a bad scheme last system where he was playing out of position for much of the year.
Edge defender Alex Highsmith, linebacker Patrick Queen and defensive tackle Cam Heyward all missed the cut for the Top 100 but were all listed as honorable mentions.
