Mock draft season isn’t slowing down any time soon.
Draft Wire‘s latest three-round mock draft released last Friday. Initially, the Denver Broncos held the No. 9 overall pick in this week’s NFL draft. But when that pick is on the clock the team can simply turn on Russell Wilson highlights. The Seahawks hold the Broncos’ initial top two picks for the draft following the Wilson trade.
But thanks to the Von Miller trade, the Broncos still have a selection in the second round. In their latest mock, Draft Wire has the Broncos selecting Georgia LB Channing Tindall. Then, in the third round, the Broncos select Minnesota OT Daniel Faalele and Houston CB Macus Jones.
Tindall projects to eventually be a league-average starter, according to NFL.com. While his scouting report doesn’t highlight his pass-coverage skills, he doesn’t appear to be a liability in that aspect of his game.
The same goes for Faalele pertaining to eventually being a league-average starter. That’s what Day 2 picks generally are. He’d presumably immediately challenge Billy Turner at right tackle, though.
Jones, however, is a nice depth piece — if drafted.
Check out the results of our poll asking what’s the Broncos’ biggest draft needs here.
