The 2022 NFL season is about to begin, with Week 1 kicking off on Thursday.
The first week will end, however, with an intriguing game: The Denver Broncos will visit the Seattle Seahawks — 8:15 PM on ESPN, ABC and ESPN+! — which means Russell Wilson will return to his old stomping grounds after the franchise that drafted him traded him.
Yep, lots of storylines there!!
But there are other reasons we’ll get into below as to why you should watch this game, even if it feels like the Seahawks will be kind of terrible this season and this game may end up being a blowout.
Let’s dive into the three reasons to watch:
1
Russell Wilson revenge game
The trade that shook up the offseason between these two teams sent Wilson to Denver, ending what had been an awkward finish to his Seawhawks tenure.
Will the Broncos let Russell cook against his old team? I’m guessing heck yes and it’ll be quite a sight to see.
2
The new "MNF" booth!
Let’s not forget: Joe Buck and Troy Aikman will be on the mics for the first time with ESPN. Of course, it’s not the first time they’ve been in a booth together, having worked for FOX as a pair for decades.

Let's see how Geno Smith does as a starter
It could be a long time for the seasoned vet. Or maybe he proves that all those years of ups and downs led up to him surprising us all, especially when he has a solid running back in Rashaad Penny and some All Pro-level talent at wide receiver in DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett.
