With Kevin Porter Jr. delivering a statement performance, the Houston Rockets (10-23) snapped a five-game losing streak with authority in Monday’s 133-118 win (box score) at Chicago.

In arguably the best game of the 2022-23 NBA season to date for Houston’s starting lineup, Porter found plenty of support in Chicago from Jalen Green, Jabari Smith Jr. and Alperen Sengun.

The impressive statistics for Houston’s young quartet included:

  • Porter: Season-high 36 points on 14-of-22 shooting (63.6%) and 6-of-12 on 3-pointers (50%); 9 assists, 7 rebounds, 2 turnovers, plus-13 plus/minus differential in 39 minutes
  • Green: 24 points on 9-of-15 shooting (60%) and 6-of-10 on 3-pointers (60%); 6 rebounds, 3 assists, plus-16 in 35 minutes
  • Sengun: 25 points on 10-of-12 shooting (83.3% FG), 11 rebounds, 6 assists, 2 blocks, plus-24 in 32 minutes
  • Smith: 13 points on 6-of-14 shooting (45.5%), 8 rebounds, 2 steals, 2 blocks, plus-15 in 31 minutes

In a losing effort, DeMar DeRozan led the host Bulls (14-19) with 31 points and 10 assists on 11-of-18 shooting (61.1%).
