3 Ohio State OL prospects to know for the Cardinals

The Arizona Cardinals have made former Ohio State offensive line coach Justin Frye their new offensive line coach, as the Dallas Cowboys hired previous offensive line coach Klayton Adams to be their offensive coordinator.

That gives the Cardinals an in when it comes to prospects from Ohio State in the 2025 NFL draft.

The Cardinals have used their first pick in the draft the last two years to take Ohio State players. In 2023, it was tackle Paris Johnson, whom Frye coached in 2022. In 2024, it was receiver Marvin Harrison Jr.

The 2025 draft has three Ohio State offensive linemen Cardinals fans should know about, as they very likely will be targets for the team.

Ohio State OL to know in 2025 draft

OT Josh Simmons

Simmons was on track to be perhaps a top-five pick in the 2025 draft. The 6-foot-5, 310-pound tackle was the one who replaced Paris Johnson at left tackle after Johnson was drafted by the Cardinals.

He suffered a season-ending ACL tear in October, so that could cause him to drop in the draft. Reports are that he will be cleared by training camp, but the Cardinals were in a similar situation with cornerback Garrett Williams. He suffered an ACL tear in his final season at Syracuse in October. The third-round pick did not play until the second half of his rookie season.

Could you imagine him falling to the Cardinals with the 16th pick? It would be hard for them to pass on him and then they could have bookend Ohio State tackles.

G/T Donovan Jackson

Jackson was a fantastic guard before this season. He moved over to left tackle after Simmons’ injury and did quite solidly. He is 6-foot-4 and 320 pounds. He proved he can play tackle but probably will be an excellent guard in the NFL. His versatility and upside have him projected likely as a second-round pick, but he could sneak into the first round.

C Seth McLaughlin

He won the Rimmington Trophy in 2024 for being the best center in the nation. He started 34 games at center between his time at Alabama and his one season at Ohio State, but he suffered a torn Achilles in November.
