3 arrested in headless body case

MUMBAI: Three members of the husband's family were arrested for the murder of Saniya Shaikh, whose headless body was found at Bhuigaon beach, over a year ago.

Saniya's husband Asif (31), the main accused, was arrested on Thursday. The partly decomposed body was found in a wheeled travel bag on July 26, 2021. The body was identified last month after Saniya's relatives from Belgaum in Karnataka filed a missing complaint with Achole police in Nalasopara (E) as Asif had sold his home and went incommunicado.
