The Chicago Bears have a star quarterback. Yes, yes, get your microfiber cloth and wipe your glasses, reload this web page, and that sentence still won’t change.
In Justin Fields, the Bears finally have a game-changing quarterback who is expected to light up hapless teams and who is otherwise liable to go OFF against absolutely anyone. I get where you’re coming from — it’s still kind of hard for me to process.
But after Fields cut up and cut through the Dolphins to break the NFL single-game rushing record once held by Michael Vick, and after he won his first career NFC Offensive Player of the Week Award (Note: He’s the only player to do so in a losing effort this season), the chorus is clear: the Bears have a special signal-caller.
Here’s a running list of current NFL stars, coaches, journalists, and former savvy players who all think Fields — again, a Bears quarterback — is on the cusp of being the Next Big Thing. (Note: The numbered list is in no particular order, but that last person might raise an eyebrow or two.)

runner. Like he is really, really fast and he can cut and
break tackles. There are a lot of running quarterbacks.
This one in particular I think is very elite and adept at that."— Courtney Cronin (@CourtneyRCronin) November 6, 2022

The @bears stopped trying to make Justin Fields “play quarterback”, started letting him “play football” and the results have been SPECTACULAR. Allowing him to use his legs, his arm and his creativity. Justin Fields is having fun again.
— Robert Griffin III (@RGIII) November 6, 2022
Since the @ChicagoBears decided to properly use Justin Fields’ athleticism, his confidence has SURGED into every area of his game. Fields is more accurate, playing with better rhythm in the pocket and creating when the play isn’t there, like on the 61 yard TD run. Franchise QB.
