247Sports recruiting expert Steve Wiltfong not worried Jeremiah Smith will flip

College football fans are a paranoid bunch. Courting recruits can take some back to our high school dating days in a matter of moments. You’ve asked that special someone to be your significant other and they said yes, but are they really committed or just looking for the next best thing?

Jeremiah Smith is a special talent and although he’s been committed to Ohio State for quite some time, fans have allowed themselves to be a nervous wreck over Smith taking official visits elsewhere. Some have even drawn the ire of the five-star receiver’s father who blasted those so-called fans for “trash-talking a kid… enjoying his recruiting experience.”

Smith has continued to say he is locked in with the Buckeyes but is going to enjoy the process. And who can blame him? You’d most likely do the same thing if in his shoes.

But, if there is one more reason not to let the football decisions of 17-year-old kids keep you up at night, here it is. Director of Football Recruiting at 247Sports, Steve Wiltfong says he’s not worried about Smith flipping. Wiltfong feels like Smith has earned the right to take his official visits but he is not hearing anything that would make him think Ohio State is in danger of losing the prized receiver.

That’s good news for Buckeye fans; maybe some can rest a little easier now. If you want to hear all of Wiltfong’s comments on Jeremiah Smith, you can check out the 247Sports YouTube segment starting around minute 14:00.

Smith will be in Columbus this weekend for his official visit with Ohio State.
