247Sports analyst doesn’t like MSU’s chances vs. Rutgers – here’s why…

Justin Thind of 247Sports is not particularly high on the Spartans’ chances in Saturday’s finale against Rutgers.

Michigan State is a slight favorite in the matchup with the Scarlet Knights, but Thind is questioning how that is so. Thind took to social media platform X on Friday, and explained why he likes Rutgers to beat Michigan State on Saturday.”

Here’s what Thind had to say about this matchup between the Spartans and Scarlet Knights on X:

Rewatching Friday night’s game, not optimistic about MSU’s chances vs Rutgers tomorrow. With Tatum, Brantley, Rucker, Hughes, and Coley out at CB, Rutgers will simply target whichever receiver isn’t being covered by Ed Woods every 3rd down. That’s what Purdue did all 2nd half even when MSU’s run defense stood tall on early downs, and it worked well no matter what blitzes or coverages Joe Rossi tried to call. Rutgers has more talent & a better run game than Purdue to complement that pass plan. You won’t be holding them to -2 rush yards like Fri. Not to mention MSU’s offensive struggles…”

Michigan State comes into this game needing a win to become bowl-eligible for the first time since 2021. The Spartans are 5-6 overall and 3-5 in Big Ten play.

Kickoff between the Spartans and Scarlet Knights is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. ET on Saturday. The game will be televised on Fox Sports 1.
