A man has died after getting into trouble in the water near a Crianlarich beauty spot.
Emergency services were called to the Falls of Falloch shortly after 5pm on Saturday evening, with police, ambulance and rescue crews dispatched to the scene.
The body of a 24-year-old man was later recovered from the scene by police divers.
Police say there are “no apparent suspicious circumstances” surrounding the tragedy.
Videos shared online show shocked onlookers waiting at the side of the falls as emergency crews arrive at the area.
The falls have remained a popular site for visitors, especially on sunny days like those seen over the weekend.
It’s understood that groups of visitors attend a location at the beauty spot which is regularly used as a swimming pool
A previous rescue in August last year saw emergency crews rescue 11 people at the falls after fast flowing torrents left them stranded following heavy downpours and thunderstorms in the area.
As torrential rain continued to fall, water levels quickly rose, the group were trapped on the rocks on the wrong side of the water.
Volunteers from Killin Mountain Rescue Team were also drafted in to assist firefighters with the group rescue.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Officers were called to concerns for a person near Falls of Falloch at around 5.20pm on Saturday, July 9, 2022.
“Emergency services attended and the body of a 24-year-old man was recovered from the water by the Police Scotland Dive and Marine Unit.
“There are no apparent suspicious circumstances and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
