A number of Edinburgh schools will be closed on Monday and Tuesday due to the arrival of Her Majesty the Queen in the capital.
The City of Edinburgh Council have issued a series of emergency closures for both September 12 and 13 due to the levels of disruption across the city.
Thousands of mourners have gathered in the city centre on Sunday to watch as the coffin of Queen Elizabeth II is brought to the Palace of Holyroodhouse, with similar scenes expected in the following days.

On Monday, September 13, the Queen will be taken in a procession to St Giles', where she will lie in rest until Tuesday afternoon, before being taken to Edinburgh Airport.
As a result of the ceremonial events, the council have confirmed that travel disruption will cause the closure of several early years centres, primary and secondary schools.

Others will close early at 12 midday to avoid any further congestion across the city.

All schools will reopen as normal on Wednesday, September 14.
