A 22-year-old woman from Arkansas, Eugenea Collins, has made the shocking claim that she is Madeleine McCann, the British girl who disappeared in 2007. This comes just days after a Polish woman, Julia Wandelt, who also claimed to be Madeleine, was arrested for stalking the McCann family.
Eugenea, speaking exclusively to DailyMail, revealed that she began to question her own identity after seeing Julia Wandelt’s appearance on Dr. Phil. According to Eugenea, seeing Wandelt’s story sparked a series of doubts about her own life, leading her to believe she might be Madeleine.
“I started to think I was Madeleine when I saw Julia on Dr. Phil,” Eugenea explained. She also noted that her inability to obtain a copy of her birth certificate while trying to get new identification further raised her suspicions. “I am unable to get any kind of identification,” she said. “I couldn’t even get any help from the people at the Red Cross when my house was burned because I have no identification.”
Eugenea also revealed her belief that her biological father, Eugene Collins, might be the convicted pedophile Christian Brueckner, who is currently a prime suspect in Madeleine’s disappearance. “I saw pictures of the suspect, and he looks like my biological father or who I’ve been told is my biological father my whole life,” she said. “I never had any relationship with this man whatsoever.”
Eugenea recalled that, during her school years, she had written about her kidnapping and described wearing a dress similar to the one Madeleine was last seen in. She said, “If it wasn’t for me seeing her (Julia) on the Dr. Phil show, I would’ve never known. In a way, her stupidity actually helped me find my family.”
Despite her claims, Eugenea does not have any confirmed DNA connection to the McCann family. She has attempted to contact the Metropolitan Police but claims that neither they nor her local Arkansas police department have taken her seriously. Eugenia recently took an Ancestry test, which showed that she is 68% English and Northwestern European, further fueling her belief that she is Madeleine McCann.
On social media, many have expressed doubts about Eugenea’s claims, with users pointing out discrepancies such as the lack of the distinctive eye defect that Madeleine is known for. “The reason I’m not convinced is because I don’t see the same spot on the eye in any photo,” one commenter wrote.
However, Eugenea has defended herself, insisting that the differences are due to scars on her ears. “People keep saying something about [my] ears not being a match, but I have scars on mine,” she responded, adding that she only recently noticed them after they were pointed out to her.
Despite the skepticism, Eugenea remains determined to prove her connection to the McCann case, hoping that further testing and investigations will validate her claim.
