The country registered 42 more Covid-19 fatalities and 22,311 new cases during the previous 24 hours, the Public Health Ministry announced on Monday morning.
There were 22,175 local cases and 136 imported ones.
On Sunday, 17,470 Covid-19 patients left hospitals after recovering from the coronavirus.
Since the pandemic started in early 2020, there have been 2,891,927 Covid-19 cases, including 668,492 cases this year, with 2,655,349 complete recoveries to date.
The death toll stood at 22,933 since the beginning of the pandemic, including 1,235 so far this year.
The highest number of Covid-related fatalities in a 24-hour period was 312 recorded on Aug 13, 2021. The highest number of cases was 25,615 on Feb 26.
