Ever dreamt about getting paid to go to festivals? Back in February, Skiddle , the event discovery platform, announced a new job opportunity to join as an official festival reporter and attend 13 festivals between May and August this year.
The job advertised for someone with a creative streak and the ability to create and produce fun and exciting content. After more than 10 applications, the team hired Nichita Matei, a 21 year old graduate from Manchester, who has previously run his own YouTube channel.
Throughout the summer, Nichita will be creating a ‘Festival Diary’ series which will consist of video blogs and written blogs on each festival he attends. The diaries will follow him trying to find the best festival food, the greatest acts of the summer. Lisa Braithwaite, Senior Marketing Manager at Skiddle said: “We chose Nichita because of his vibrant personality that was shown on his video submission, his experience in creating video content and his enthusiasm for live music and events. We trust that he will do a great job when he is out at all of these festivals over the summer.”
The summer of 2022 is filled with great festivals and incredible acts and Nichita will attend 13 across the UK including:
-
Highest Point, Lancaster, 12 - 15 May
-
Dream Valley, Kent, 28 May
-
Creamfields South, Chelmsford, 2 - 4 June
-
Parklife, Manchester, 11 - 12 June
-
One Out Fest, London, 18 June
-
Retro In The Park, Burnley, 2 July
-
Kubix, Sunderland, 9 July
-
Bluedot, Macclesfield, 21 - 24 July
-
Belladrum, Inverness, 28 - 30 July
-
Rock The Mote, Kent, 6 August
-
Garage Nation Outdoor Fest, London, 13 August
-
Weyfest, Farnham, 19 - 21 August
-
Creamfields North, Cheshire, 25 - 28 August
Nichita will kick off the festival season at Highest Point Festival taking place from the 12 to the 15 May at Williamson Park in Lancaster.
Nichita said: “After almost a full gap year’s grind, Skiddle has given me a shot to not only earn while developing my passion project, but they’re leaving me full creative freedom to document my experience! It’s still so insane to me that I’m going to 13 back-to-back festivals. Summer 2022 is about to be a movie, and I’m straight slumpy in the director’s chair getting a sweet-sweet tan all the while.”
