Veteran wide receiver Stefon Diggs was traded from the Buffalo Bills to the Houston Texans last April after an up-and-down tenure in Western New York. Unfortunately, while still settling into his starting role with the Texans, Diggs suffered a torn ACL, which prematurely ended his first season in Houston.
Now set to enter free agency in 2025, Diggs will have a key decision to make; Should he re-sign with the Texans, or seek greener pastures with another team?
When he was acquired in 2024, Diggs agreed to a one-year contract with Houston for $22,520,000, which included a healthy $20,805,000 signing bonus.
According to Sportrac, Diggs’ next deal should pay him roughly $13,500,000 per year, though the length of the contract could play a major factor in the average salary he earns per year.
Although he did not have time to cement his role in Houston’s offense this season, it seems unlikely that the Texans would let him sign elsewhere without making a competitive offer to keep him on their roster in 2025.
