Jeanty announced his decision on social media.
“I’m excited to announce I am declaring for the 2025 NFL Draft,” Jeanty wrote. “The opportunity to play in the NFL is a dream of mine, and I’m proud to represent Boise State and all of those who have helped me along the way at the next level.”
Jeanty is coming off a historic season for the Boise State Broncos. Jeanty led the nation with 2,601 yards and 29 touchdowns in 14 games. Jeanty’s rushing total is second to only Barry Sanders’ 2,628 yards in 1988.
In Jeanty’s final game, he rushed for 104 yards on 30 carries in Boise’s 31-14 loss in the Fiesta Bowl.
Jeanty finished second in Heisman voting behind Colorado’s Travis Hunter. Jeanty won the Maxwell and Doak Walker Awards. Plus, Jeanty was named a unanimous All-American.
In three seasons, Jeanty carried the ball 750 times for 4,769 rushing yards and 50 touchdowns.

While the debate intensifies over which quarterback should go first, there is no question that Jeanty will be the first running back off the board.
CBS Sports called Jeanty “one of the finest RB prospects over the past decade” with elite contact balance, light feet, and great speed.
No running backs were selected in the first round of the 2024 draft. That will likely change with Jeanty’s inclusion in this year’s class.
Which team will pull the trigger on Jeanty? Keep an eye on the Dallas Cowboys at No. 12. Dallas ranked 27th in rushing yards per game. The Cowboys desperately need a dynamic player in the backfield to take the pressure off Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb.
