The 2025 Grammy Award nominations are set to be revealed in an exciting announcement that will take place via a live video stream on the Grammy website and the Recording Academy’s YouTube channel. The nominees will be unveiled on Friday at 8 a.m. Pacific and 11 a.m. Eastern time, with a pre-show starting 15 minutes earlier.
A star-studded lineup of presenters, including past Grammy winners and notable figures such as Gayle King and Jim Gaffigan, will be on hand to announce the nominees. The list of presenters includes Brandy Clark, Kirk Franklin, David Frost, Robert Gordon, Kylie Minogue, Gaby Moreno, Deanie Parker, Ben Platt, Mark Ronson, Hayley Williams, and last year's best new artist recipient, Victoria Monét.
For eligibility, only recordings released in the U.S. between Sept. 16, 2023, and Aug. 30, 2024, will be considered for nominations. This means that albums like Future's “Mixtape Pluto,” George Strait's “Cowboys and Dreamers,” Tyler, the Creator’s “Chromakopia,” and Lin-Manuel Miranda's “Warriors” are not eligible, although Future and Metro Boomin's “We Don’t Trust You” is likely to receive a nomination.
There are several intriguing questions leading up to the nominations. Will Beyoncé and Post Malone secure nominations in the country music categories for their successful albums “Cowboy Carter” and “F-1 Trillion,” despite not being traditionally associated with the genre? Additionally, will Shaboozey's hit song “A Bar Song (Tipsy),” which blends country elements with a sample from J Kwon’s 2004 rap track “Tipsy,” dominate the nominations?
The 2025 Grammy Awards ceremony is scheduled to be broadcast live on CBS and Paramount+ on Feb. 2 from the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles. Music fans can look forward to an exciting lineup of nominees and performances as the music industry celebrates another year of outstanding achievements.
