2024 NFL Free Agency: Updated list of Eagles players who will hit the open market

The Eagles are set for wholesale changes after finishing the 2023 season 1-6 after a 10-1 start.

The dominos are starting to fall as All-Pro center Jason Kelce and star defensive tackle Fletcher Cox have announced their retirements.

Brandon Graham, who turns 36 in April, is returning for one more final season, his 15th, and he’s one of the few guys on the roster deserving of writing his final script.

With the fans and media awaiting the start of free agency, we’re looking at an updated list of players hitting the open market.

CB Avonte Maddox

Avonte Maddox made a list of potential salary cap casualties, and last, the Eagles decided to release the slot cornerback, according to Adam Schefter.

The move provides Philadelphia witha cap savings of $7,117,647, and a dead cap hit of $2,559,266.

Maddox returned to the lineup to play the season’s last three games after undergoing surgery on a torn pectoral muscle in September.

Maddox is one of the top slot cornerbacks in the NFL, but he’s played only 13 games in the last two years, and he’s missed 36 percent of the Eagles’ games since he was drafted in 2018.

RB D'Andre Swift

Swift made the Pro Bowl in his first season with the Eagles, and the free agent to be rushed for a career-high 1,049 yards with five touchdowns.

He also logged 39 receptions for 214 yards and a touchdown.

Philadelphia currently only has Kenneth Gainwell under contract for 2024, and Spotrac has Swift’s market value at 4-years, $22 million.

RB Rashaad Penny

Penny joined the Eagles on a one-year deal last offseason, but spent most of the season inactive after D’Andre Swift was acquired via trade.

RB Boston Scott

Scott has been a nice underdog story, but he saw his role diminish even more for the Eagles this season, finishing with 20 carries for 86 yards and adding four catches for 52 yards through the air over 15 regular-season games.

Scott failed to reach the end zone for the first time since his two-game debut back in 2018.

WR Quez Watkins

A 2020 sixth round pick out of Southern Miss, Watkins has played 4 seasons for the Eagles, logging 98 catches for 1,249 yards and 6 touchdowns.

His best season came in 2021, logging 43 catches for 647 yards and one touchdown.

Jones, 34, was an in-season signing by Philadelphia. He had 11 catches for 74 yards with three touchdowns in 11 games during the regular season.

Zaccheaus had 10 catches for 124 yards and two touchdowns in an undefined role after snagging 44 catches for Atlanta in 2022.

The Eagles could let Mariota walk if the organization beliefs Tanner McKee is a capable backup.

OT Jack Driscoll

Driscoll was originally selected by the Eagles in the fourth round (145th overall) of the 2020 NFL Draft. In that time, Driscoll has started 17 games while playing tackle and guard for injured regulars.

The hybrid offensive lineman offers versatility at offensive tackle and offensive guard as a reliable backup, and has to return with Jalen Kelce retiring, and Sua Opeta also in free agency.

According to Pro Football Focus, since joining the Eagles as an undrafted lineman out of Weber State in 2019, Sua Opeta has logged over 400 career snaps at left guard and almost 500 at right guard. A large chunk of those right-guard snaps have occurred this season, including 69 snaps against Seattle, switching over to left guard against the Giants, and logging 65+ snaps.

In the eight games Opeta has played offensive snaps this season, he has allowed two sacks, one quarterback hit, and 19 pressures.

With Jason Kelce set to retire, Opeta offers a valuable cross-trained player behind Landon Dickerson and Tyler Steen once Cam Jurgens moves over to center.

TE Jack Stoll -- free agent

Stoll will hit the open market after Philadelphia decided to not tender an offer as an unrestricted free agent.

LB Nicholas Morrow

Morrow played 15 regular-season games (12 starts) and finished second on the Eagles in both tackles (95) and solo tackles (66) as well as fumble recoveries (two).

Morrow couldn’t match his 116 tackles and 83 solo efforts from his previous season in Chicago, and he became a liability in the passing game.

LB Zach Cunningham

Cunningham ended the year with 85 tackles (54 solo) and a pair of fumble recoveries in 13 regular-season games.

Hamstring and knee issues held Cunningham out of four of the season’s final six weeks.

LB Shaquille Leonard

Leonard was released by the Colts earlier this season after multiple back surgeries (including two in five months) along with a broken nose and concussion limited Leonard to just three games in 2022 and limited snaps this season.

Leonard has 23 tackles and a sack in five games with the Eagles.

Roby finished with 22 tackles, one forced fumble and zero interceptions in nine regular-season games for the Eagles.

Braden Mann

After years of uncertainty at the position, punter Braden Mann set an Eagles records by averaging 49.8 yards per punt with a 43.9-yard net average.

An unrestricted free agent, Mann should be high on the list of players that need to return.
