Despite the struggles the Atlanta Falcons have had at quarterback, they find themselves at 4-4 and sitting atop the NFC South. This puts their 2024 NFL draft in limbo right now. It’s hard to imagine they will be able to hold onto the lead in the division and could fade in the second half of the season.
Here are our updated draft needs for the Falcons for 2024.
1 - Quarterback
We appreciate the Falcons giving Desmond Ridder a fair shot this season but he’s clearly not the answer. I’ll be shocked if Atlanta doesn’t use its first-round pick on a franchise quarterback.
2 - Edge rusher
The Falcons only have 5.5 sacks between their starting outside linebackers and this is a position that could use a serious upgrade. This edge rusher class has a handful of really good players so look for the Falcons to go after one in the first two rounds.
3 - Wide receiver
We love Drake London but he could use some help on the outside at receiver and if the Falcons add a rookie franchise quarterback, it makes sense to get him as many weapons as possible.
4 - Cornerback
Atlanta has a couple of nice players in Jeff Okudah and A.J. Terrell but neither guy is a true No. 1 lockdown guy. If the Falcons pass on a quarterback in the first round, cornerback makes a lot of sense. The talent level drops off pretty fast at the position but quarterback is much deeper.
