NFL Network draft analyst Daniel Jeremiah put out his second 2024 mock draft of the offseason this week and we decided to dig into it and see where we agree and where we disagree with his picks. Here are some takeaways from the new mock.
Where does Justin Fields land?
Jeremiah has the Chicago Bears selecting former USC quarterback Caleb Williams which begs the question of where Fields lands and should the Bears have a second first-round pick.
Patriots pass on a QB
I actually like the idea of the Patriots bringing in a veteran quarterback and going wide receiver here instead. The Patriots already have a pair of young quarterbacks and could add a veteran like Kirk Cousins.
The Brock Bowers tumble
We continue to wonder if a player like Bowers could actually fall all the way to No. 18. It seems really unlikely and we continue to like him to the Chargers.
Steelers draft a guard?
The Steelers have definite needs on the offensive line, but a guard isn’t one of them. James Daniels and Isaac Seumalo can play. Center Zach Frazier and tackle Amarius Mims both come off the board later and make more sense.
No big surprises
Jeremiah is a talented NFL draft analyst. This mock is very much in line with what most pundits are doing in terms of the prospects. We will be curious to see how much he changes things up after the scouting combine and which guys will sneak into the first round.
