The 2024 NFL draft is just six weeks away, and we already have a huge draft trade. Here’s how the deal between the Houston Texans and Minnesota Vikings broke down:
Vikings receive:
Pick No. 23
Pick No. 232
Texans get:
Pick No. 42
Pick No. 188
2025 2nd-round pick
Between the trade and the first wave of free agency, we have lots of new names in new spots in our latest two-round mock draft.
1
Chicago Bears – QB Caleb Williams, USC
We aren’t sure what the Bears are going to do with Justin Fields and if they cannot trade him, this could be a pick on the move.
2
Washington Commanders – QB Jayden Daniels, LSU
The Commanders are in the market for a quarterback and opt for the athleticism of Jayden Daniels here.
3
New England Patriots – QB Drake Maye, North Carolina
The Patriots didn’t delve into the free-agent market so they are happy to get Drake Maye here.
4
Arizona Cardinals – WR Marvin Harrison Jr., Ohio State
The Cardinals lost Marquise Brown to free agency so they opt for a massive upgrade in Marvin Harrison Jr.
5
Los Angeles Chargers – WR Malik Nabers, LSU
The Chargers let Mike Williams leave in free agency and traded away Keenan Allen making wide receiver easily the team’s top need. Malik Nabers is a true No. 1 receiver and perfect pick here.
6
New York Giants – WR Rome Odunze, Washington
The Giants seem content with their crop of quarterbacks so we go with big-play receiver Rome Odunze instead.
7
Tennessee Titans – OT Joe Alt, Norte Dame
The Titans have put in work in free agency but still need an elite left tackle so this pick stays with Notre Dame’s Joe Alt.
8
Atlanta Falcons – EDGE Dallas Turner, Alabama
After signing Kirk Cousins, the Falcons can focus on defense with edge rusher Dallas Turner.
9
Chicago Bears – EDGE Jared Verse, FSU
Chicago got their wide receiver help in free agency so they look to defense here with edge defender Jared Verse to beef up the defensive front.
10
New York Jets – OT Taliese Fuaga, Oregon State
The Jets probably want to see a wide receiver fall here but instead they get a bigtime blindside defender in Taliese Fuaga.
11
Minnesota Vikings – QB J.J. McCarthy, Michigan
After losing Kirk Cousins to the Falcons, quarterback becomes the team’s top priority and J.J. McCarthy is a mature, productive quarterback with all the intangibles.
12
Denver Broncos – QB Bo Nix, Oregon
First surprise pick here but the Broncos cannot afford to pass on a quarterback. This could be a spot for them to trade back but still hope to land Bo Nix.
13
Las Vegas Raiders – DB Cooper DeJean, Iowa
The Raiders miss out on the top quarterbacks but land the best defensive back in the draft in Cooper DeJean.
14
New Orleans Saints – OL Troy Fauntanu, Washington
The Saints could use help at guard or tackle and Troy Fauntanu can start anywhere on the offensive line.
15
Indianapolis Colts – CB Quinyon MItchell, Toledo
The Colts did what they needed to for the offense in free agency so they opt for a shutdown cornerback in Quinyon Mitchell.
16
Seattle Seahawks – OT Olu Fashanu, Penn State
The Seahawks could go a number of directions here but we like landing Olu Fashanu this late.
17
Jacksonville Jaguars – CB Nate Wiggins, Clemson
Jacksonville could easily go with a receiver like Brian Thomas Jr. here but we love the skill set of Nate Wiggins along with that game-breaking speed.
18
Cincinnati Bengals – TE Brock Bowers, Georgia
It is criminal if Brock Bowers falls all the way to No. 18 but the Bengals won’t be complaining.
19
Los Angeles Rams – DT Byron Murphy II, Texas
The retirement of future Hall of Famer Aaron Donald makes this decision an easy one. Byron Murphy II is the top interior defender in this draft.
20
Pittsburgh Steelers – C Jackson Powers-Johnson, Oregon
The Steelers didn’t sign a free-agent center but landed the top center in the draft instead.
21
Miami Dolphins – DL Johnny Newton, Illinois
The Dolphins select Johnny Newton here to help replace the productivity of Chrisitan Wilkins.
22
Philadelphia Eagles – EDGE Laiatu Latu, UCLA
We love the fit of Laiatu Latu as an edge rusher for an Eagles team that has made several big moves in free agency.
23
Minnesota Vikings – CB Terrion Arnold, Alabama
We don’t expect the Vikings to be making this pick as they use it to move up but if they can’t make a deal, cornerback Terrion Arnold is a great value.
24
Dallas Cowboys – OL Graham Barton, Duke
The Cowboys could go a number of different directions here but can’t pass up on Graham Barton who could start at any spot on the offensive line.
25
Green Bay Packers – OT JC Latham, Alabama
There’s no reason for JC Latham to fall this far but the Packers won’t complain when they get a franchise left tackle.
26
Tampa Bay Buccaneers – OT Amarius Mims, Georgia
The run on edge rushers put the Bucs in a position where they opt for offensive tackle Amarius Mims.
Arizona goes with a playmaker on offense with their first pick in the round and come back around with a defensive playmaker in Kool-Aid McKinstry.
28
Buffalo Bills – OT Tyler Guyton, Oklahoma
This pick was wide receiver until the Bills added Curtis Samuel so instead we go with depth at offensive tackle.
29
Detroit Lions – S Tyler Nubin, Minnesota
The Lions don’t have any glaring needs after the first wave of free agency but an upgrade at safety makes sense and Tyler Nubin is the top in the class.
30
Baltimore Ravens – WR Brian Thomas Jr., LSU
The Ravens would be ecstatic if Brian Thomas Jr. made it all that way to the bottom of the first round as a deep threat for Lamar Jackson.
31
San Francisco 49ers – DL Braden FIske, FSU
The Niners replace Arik Armstead with the athletic and explosive Braden Fiske.
32
Kansas City Chiefs – OT Jordan Morgan, Arizona
The Chiefs got themselves a second receiver in free agency so they can focus on upgrading a questionable offensive tackle depth chart.
33
Carolina Panthers – CB T.J. Tampa, Iowa State
34
New England Patriots – WR Ladd McConkey, Georgia
35
Arizona Cardinals – LB Payton Wilson, North Carolina State
36
Washington Commanders – WR Xavier Worthy, Texas
37
Los Angeles Chargers – CB Mike Sainristil, Michigan
38
Tennessee Titans – WR Troy Franklin, Oregon
39
Carolina Panthers – C Zach Frazier, West Virginia
40
Washington Commanders – EDGE Chris Braswell, Alabama
41
Green Bay Packers – EDGE Darius Robinson, Missouri
42
Houston Texans – EDGE Chop Robinson, Penn State
43
Atlanta Falcons – WR Adonai Mitchell, Texas
44
Las Vegas Raiders – QB Michael Penix Jr., Washington
45
New Orleans Saints – EDGE Adisa Isaac, Penn State
46
Indianapolis Colts – DL Kris Jenkins, Michigan
47
New York Giants – CB Ennis Rakestraw Jr., Missouri
48
Jacksonville Jaguars – WR Roman Wilson, Michigan
49
Cincinnati Bengals – DL T'Vondre Sweat, Texas
50
Philadelphia Eagles – Cb Kamari Lassiter, Georgia
51
Pittsburgh Steelers – WR Ricky Pearsall, Florida
52
Los Angeles Rams – OT Kingsley Suamataia, BYU
53
Phladelphia Eagles – S Javon Bullard, Georgia
54
Cleveland Browns – WR Jermaine Burton, Alabama
55
Miami Dolphins – G Christian Haynes, UConn
56
Dallas Cowboys – LB Edgerrin Cooper, Texas A&M
57
Tampa Bay Buccaneers – EDGE Jonah Elliss, Utah
58
Green Bay Packers – S Jaden Hicks, Washington State
59
Houston Texans – TE Ja'Tavion Sanders, Texas
60
Buffalo Bills – DE Marshawn Kneeland, Western Michigan
61
Detroit Lios – CB Khyree Jackson, Oregon
62
Baltimore Ravens – OT Kiran Amegadjie, Yale
63
San Francisco 49ers – OL Blake Fisher, Notre Dame
64
Kansas City Chiefs – CB Jarrian Jones, FSU
