2023 NFL draft: Seahawks to watch Anthony Richardson throw at Florida’s pro day

The Seattle Seahawks have been making the rounds at pro days around the country, watching the top quarterback prospects in the 2023 NFL draft class. So far, they have visited and taken selfies with Ohio State’s C.J. Stroud, Alabama’s Bryce Young and Kentucky’s Will Levis.

Today Seattle will get a front-row seat to watch the most-interesting prospect in the bunch: Florida’s Anthony Richardson.

Richardson made history at the NFL Scouting Combine, posting the best athletic score any quarterback ever has. He ran a 4.44 second 40-yard dash and set new records for the long jump (10’9″) and vertical leap (40.5″). This all in a package that checks in at 6-foot-4 and 244 pounds. Those numbers alone make Richardson the most intriguing asset in the draft class.

Florida has several other interesting prospects to keep an eye on, too. That list includes the top-ranked guard in the class, O’Cyrus Torrence, interior defensive lineman Gervon Dexter, plus a couple of linebackers in Ventrell Miller and Brenton Cox Jr.

Richardson will be front and center, though. If he is still available when the Seahawks are on the clock at No. 5 overall they may not ever find a better use of draft capital than taking a chance on him.
