2023 NFL draft: PFF names Penn State WR a Day 3 fit for Seahawks

The Seahawks tend to target their wide receiver prospects on Day 2 of the draft. At least that was the case for Golden Tate, Paul Richardson, Tyler Lockett, DK Metcalf and Dee Eskridge – who’s on thin ice going into his third year in the league.

However, this year Seattle has a ton of holes to fill and at the moment there are only 52 players on their roster due to cap constraints. If they decide to wait until Day 3 to target a receiver, then Pro Football Focus has an idea for who they might pick. PFF has named Penn State’s Parker Washington as a Day 3 fit for the Seahawks.

“Washington is an NFL-ready and reliable slot receiver. He may not be the most explosive player, but his hands are dependable (5.2% career drop rate) and he is talented after the catch (31 broken tackles on 110 receptions the past two seasons).”

Washington has the prototypical Pete Carroll receiver build, measuring in at 5-foot-10, 212 pounds. In 32 games at Penn State he totaled 146 catches, 1,920 yards and 12 touchdowns. He also has experience as a punt returner, posting 99 yards on 18 attempts this past season.

Here are Washington’s 2022 highlights.

And here are his 2020-2021 highlights.

Washington is projected to come off the board in the fifth round.
