The Minnesota Vikings closed the show at the 2022 NFL draft by selecting Georgia safety Lewis Cine with the No. 32 overall pick on Thursday night.
Earlier in the night, the team dealt away the No. 12 and No. 46 picks to the rival Detroit Lions for No. 32, 34 and 66. It was a bit of a head-scratcher trade that had Vikings fans outraged.
It also left them waiting until the end of the night for first-year general manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah to finally take someone off the board.
Cine finished his collegiate career with the Bulldogs by compiling 73 tackles, 14 pass deflections, two interceptions and 3.5 tackles for a loss.
It’ll be interesting how he holds up as an NFL player considering the Vikings traded out of a position that would have netted them Kyle Hamilton, who was projected as one of the best players in the draft.
