Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll has been in this position before. It’s easy to forget in the midst of all his recent high-visibility victories, but Carroll went 0-2 in his first two tries as a head coach in the NFL. Carroll only lasted one year with the Jets (1994) and three with the Patriots (1997-1999) before he was fired.
Carroll rebounded by building his brand in college football, dominating the Pac-12 conference as USC’s head coach from 2001-2009, posting a 97-19 record and winning two national championship titles. Getting back on top in the NFL after his first losing season in a decade will require a lot of work though, particularly improving his returns in the draft.
If Carroll decides to hit up his old haunting grounds for talent, here are a few names he might consider. Based on the consensus 2022 NFL draft big board, these are the top 12 prospects in the Pac-12 conference.
