If there's one thing always guaranteed to draw a crowd in Newcastle it's Fenwick's Window reveal and thousands of people gathered on Northumberland Street on Friday to see the unveiling of this year's display.
Fenwick's Window reveal is a huge deal for many people in the city year after year and it's hard to believe 12 months have passed since all eyes were on the Northumberland Street department store to see the 2018 display unveiled as The Snowman.
Last year's window unveiling coincided with the launch of Fenwick's magical Santa on the Rooftop experience and, just like the window display, that too has returned this year, officially opening on Saturday.
But on Friday, all eyes were on Newcastle's most famous window as the clock ticked down to the big reveal at 5pm and, as you can see from the pictures in the gallery above, there were plenty of people of all ages there to witness it in the flesh.
Christmas songs like Mistletoe & Wine and All I Want For Christmas filled the air as the moment drew nearer and even Santa Claus made an appearance on Fenwick's roof to start the countdown.
After two false starts the curtain remained up, but thankfully it was third time lucky, and this year's theme was eventually revealed to be Charlie & The Chocolate Factory.
