2 fatally shot near Red Line station in Chinatown

Two men were shot to death early Saturday near the CTA Red Line station in Chinatown, police said.

The shooting happened about 2:15 a.m, when someone opened fire as both men were standing on a sidewalk in the first block of West Cermak Road, steps from the Cermak-Chinatown station, according to Chicago police.

One of the men, 30, was shot in the chest and pronounced dead on the scene, police said. The other, 40, was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital with gunshot wounds to his face and back and died later.

No arrests have been reported.
