2 major Nottinghamshire roads closed due to flooding

Two major roads in Nottinghamshire has been forced to close due to flooding.

The A617 at the Fox Inn Kelham Bridge is now closed along with Kelham Lane and Trent Lane, Nottinghamshire County Council tweeted.

Ollerton Road and the A616 can be used as a diversion route, the authority said.

The closure comes in the aftermath of Storm Franklin, Storm Eunice and Storm Dudley which battered the UK earlier in the week.

Nottinghamshire has suffered from delays to public transport services and roads blocked by fallen trees.

According to the Government website, Nottinghamshire has two flood warnings as flooding is expected today, Tuesday, February 22.

A flood warning has been issued for the River Trent in Lenton for Nottingham Park and Ride site at Queens Drive. This is because river levels have risen at the Colwick river gauge as a result of Storm Eunice.

Areas most at risk are Nottingham Park and Ride on Queens Drive, Lenton Lane and Power League.

Flooding is also expected at River Trent, Holme Pierrepont for the National Watersports Centre.
