There were 19 more Covid-19 fatalities and 2,886 new cases admitted to hospitals on Tuesday, the Ministry of Public Health reported on Wednesday.
This compared with 18 coronavirus-related deaths and 2,125 cases admitted to hospitals on Monday, as reported on Tuesday.
As of midnight Tuesday, a total of 23,179 people were receiving Covid-19 treatment (up from 22,341 the previous day), including 11,271 in hospitals (up from 11,192). Among the remainder, 839 were in field hospitals/hospitel facilities (up from 736) and 11,042 in home/community isolation (up from 10,389).
Of those in hospital, 851 were seriously ill patients with lung inflammation (up from 803) and 394 dependent on ventilators (up from 378).
The 24-hour period also saw 2,029 patients discharged from hospitals after recovering.
Of the 2,886 new cases admitted to hospitals over the 24 hours, there were 2,884 cases in the general population and two imported cases.
Over the past seven days, antigen tests showed 20,547 people tested positive for Covid-19 daily on average.
Since the pandemic started in early 2020, there have been 4,565,854 Covid-19 cases, including 2,342,419 this year, with 4,511,625 complete recoveries to date.
At present the health ministry added only new cases admitted to hospital to the accumulated cases.
The accumulated death toll stood at 31,050 since the beginning of the pandemic, including 9,352 so far this year.
Global Covid-19 cases rose by 821,821 in 24 hours to 569.56 million. The worldwide death toll went up by 1,591 to 6.39 million.
The United States had the most cases at 91.53 million, up 75,397, and the most deaths at 1.05 million, up 299.
