There were 14 more Covid-19 fatalities and 2,569 confirmed new cases on Tuesday, the Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) reported on Wednesday.
Tuesday’s figures did not include 5,090 positive results from antigen tests. This would raise the total to 7,659.
This compared with the 13 coronavirus-related fatalities and 1,761 new cases reported on the previous day.
As of midnight Tuesday, a total of 23,029 people were receiving Covid-19 treatment (up from 22,458 the previous day), including 10,553 in hospitals (up from 10,499). Of the remainder, 1,203 were in field hospitals/hospitel facilities (up from 1,150) and 11,242 in home/community isolation (up from 10,776).
Of those in hospital, 665 were seriously ill with lung inflammation (up from 638) and 300 dependent on ventilators (up from 290).
The 24-hour period also saw 1,984 patients discharged from hospitals after recovering.
According to the CCSA, the 14 people who died were aged from eight to 86 years.
Bangkok logged one more coronavrus-related death and there was one in the adjacent province of Pathum Thani.
Other central plains provinces further from the capital reported two deaths - one each in Saraburi and Nakhon Nayok.
The North reported three deaths, in Phrae (2) and Phichit (1).
The Northeast reported seven fatalities - two each in Roi Et and Yasothon and one each in Nakhon Ratchasima, Surin and Si Sa Ket.
The South had no deaths.
All 2,569 new cases over the past 24 hours were local infections.
Since the pandemic started in early 2020, there have been 4,520,220 Covid-19 cases, including 2,296,785 this year, with 4,466,557 complete recoveries to date.
The accumulated death toll stood at 30,634 since the beginning of the pandemic, including 8,936 so far this year.
Global Covid-19 cases rose by 688,426 in 24 hours to 550.64 million. The worldwide death toll went up by 1,326 to 6.35 million.
The United States had the most cases at 89.03 million, up 78,448, and the most deaths at 1.04 million, up 268.
