2,387 new Covid cases, 19 more deaths

The country registered 19 more Covid-19 fatalities and 2,387 new cases during the previous 24 hours, the Public Health Ministry announced on Wednesday morning.

This compared with the 21 coronavirus-related fatalities and 1,714 new cases reported on Tuesday morning.

There were 2,383 local cases and four imported cases.

On Tuesday, 1,683 Covid-19 patients were discharged from hospitals after recovering from the coronavirus while 21,152 others were receiving treatment (up from 20,467 on the previous day).

Since the pandemic started in early 2020, there have been 4,504,929 Covid-19 cases, including 2,281,494 this year, with 4,453,252 complete recoveries to date.

The accumulated death toll stood at 30,525 since the beginning of the pandemic, including 8,827 so far this year.
