The Arizona Cardinals are interested in the wide receiver market in free agency for a couple of reasons. The market for impending free agent Marquise Brown will be impacted and the Cardinals probably will sign a receiver as well.
One of the first dominoes in the receiver market has fallen. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers and receiver Mike Evans have agreed to a two-year deal to keep him in Tampa.
The deal, per his agent, is worth $52 million with $35 million guaranteed. That number is likely the total value of the deal. He is paid $29 million of the $44 million in base money in 2024.
Evans, age 30, has had at least 1,000 receiving yards every year of his 10-year career. Last season, he caught 79 passes for 1,255 yards and had a league-high 13 receiving touchdowns.
With Evans getting between $22 million and $26 million per season on average, that will set the top of the market.
Between Evans getting signed and Bengals wideout Tee Higgins getting the franchise tag, paying more than $21 million in 2024, the receiver market will heat up.
