Authorities in Georgia have apprehended an 18-year-old man in relation to a shooting incident that occurred at Albany State University following the school's homecoming game last month. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation confirmed that Jeremy Marshall, 18, has been taken into custody and charged with three counts of aggravated assault and three counts of possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.
Marshall was arrested on Friday and is currently being held at the Dougherty County Jail. No court date has been set, and it is unclear if he has legal representation at this time.
The shooting took place on the evening of Saturday, October 19, around 8:50 p.m. during a 'Back to the Yard Celebration Concert' on the East Campus as part of the university's homecoming week festivities. Tragically, five individuals were shot during the incident, resulting in the death of 19-year-old De’Marion Tashawn Daniels. It was noted that Daniels was not a student at ASU.
The other victims included a 13-year-old girl, a 17-year-old girl, a 16-year-old girl, and a 20-year-old woman. Additionally, a sixth individual sustained injuries while attempting to flee from the gunfire but was not shot, according to the bureau.
