A teenager and a man have died in two separate falls over the weekend in Queensland.
On Sunday, at about 6.30pm, emergency services responded to reports of a man who fell 15 metres down an embankment of Coomera River, near Riverbreeze Crescent in Maudsland.
It is believed the 18-year-old was using a rope swing from a rock embankment before the incident happened.
Paramedics attempted to revive the 18-year-old, but he was declared dead at the scene.
Per 9News, authorities are treating the death as a non-suspicious accident.
A report will be prepared for the coroner
The 18-year-old’s death comes after the death of a 55-year-old, who fell 30 meters from a waterfall in Behana Gorge, South of Cairns.
On Sunday, at about 1.30pm, emergency services were alerted to Clamshell Falls in Behana Gorge after a person was reported missing in the water.
Authorities reported that the man was located an hour after launching the search and rescue operation. Although the man was able to be rescued, he sustained life-threatening injuries after being in the water for some time, ABC News reports.
Paramedics provided medical assistance to the man at the scene, but he was declared dead at the scene.
The publication also reported that it is believed the man was from Brisbane and was travelling with a group when he slipped.
