18,883 new Covid cases, 32 deaths Monday

The country registered 32 more Covid-19 fatalities and 18,883 new cases during the previous 24 hours, the Public Health Ministry announced on Monday morning.

This compared with the 30 coronavirus-related fatalities and 18,953 new cases reported on Sunday morning.

There were 18,721 local cases and 162 imported ones.

The 32 latest coronavirus-related fatalities were aged between 28 and 92 years.

Nineteen of them, or 60%, were unvaccinated. Eight, or 25%, had received two vaccine doses, but more than four months ago. Five had two doses within the past four months but had not received their third shot.

On Sunday, 14,914 Covid-19 patients left hospitals after recovering from the coronavirus.

Since the pandemic started in early 2020, there have been 2,731,198 Covid-19 cases, including 507,763 cases this year, with 2,542,145 complete recoveries to date.

The death toll stood at 22,656 since the beginning of the pandemic, including 958 so far this year.
