18,066 new Covid cases, 27 deaths Friday

The country registered 27 more Covid-19 fatalities and 18,066 new cases during the previous 24 hours, the Public Health Ministry announced on Friday morning.

There were 17,898 local cases and 168 imported ones.

Of the local Covid-19 infections, 17,707 were confirmed at hospitals and 108 via mass testing.

The 27 fatalities were between the ages of 10 and 90 years.

On Thursday, 12,511 Covid-19 patients left hospitals after recovering from the coronavirus.

Since the pandemic started in early 2020, there have been 2,674,477 Covid-19 cases, including 451,042 cases this year, with 2,502,323 complete recoveries to date.

The death toll stood at 22,565 since the beginning of the pandemic, including 867 so far this year.
